"An Audience with a Magician" workshop (2021-Present)

Context: As an emerging Theatre Practitioner and Magician I created an imaginative workshop, in collaboration with Greater Manchester Higher, called: “An Audience with a Magician”. Greater Manchester based students learnt five key skills for public speaking and tricks for building confidence through an engaging and innovative format. I performed magic tricks and I taught learners how to perform a trick so they could put into practice what they had learnt. The majority of feedback gathered was highly positive, with numerous comments highlighting the meaningful impact of the session. Currently, I deliver another version of the workshop with more of an emphasis on learning about magic.

A GM Higher report written in 2024 found many learners expressed that learning how to speak confidently in public, the chunking method, the tips about presenting, and also magic tricks were the most useful parts of the workshop.
